Tappytoon is run by Contents First, a Korean company founded in 2013 that launched the English service in 2016. It has more than seven million registered readers, and about 78% of them are in the United States — an unusually American audience for a Korean platform.
Its positioning is narrow and deliberate: officially licensed Korean webtoons, professionally translated and lettered, weighted heavily toward romance and BL. Roughly three quarters of what readers finish on Tappytoon falls into those two categories. It does not chase catalogue size, and it does not carry user-generated work.
Tappytoon sells points rather than coins, and unusually for this category it publishes enough detail to work out the real per-chapter cost.

For a reader following several series at once that second benefit is worth more than the points.

Licensed Korean romance and fantasy, translated by people rather than software. Who Made Me a Princess, The Abandoned Empress, A Returner's Magic Should Be Special and the official English Solo Leveling are the anchors, alongside a deep otome-isekai and villainess shelf.
Translation quality is the reason to be here. Tappytoon scores 10 out of 10 on our translation axis, alongside MANGA Plus, VIZ and K MANGA — names are consistent, honorifics are handled deliberately, and the lettering is typeset rather than pasted. Set that against MangaToon, which scores 4, and the difference is obvious within a page.
The trade-off is scale. The catalogue is a fraction of WEBTOON's, there is no Japanese manga, and if your taste runs to action or sports rather than romance you will exhaust the shelf quickly.
Tappytoon's main app is rated 12+, and adult titles live in a separate age-verified Mature section. As with Lezhin and Toomics, those titles are purchased on the Tappytoon website and then read in the app, because Apple and Google restrict adult material in apps.
